ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS***NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH***

FROM YOUR SURREYWOOD CIVIC ASSOCIATION

Please join your neighbors in putting a stop to crime in our neighborhood. This month there have been a total of 5 vehicles stolen from our community (3 in Surreywood + 2 in Forest Dale Subdivision) The SCA is working with Chesterfield County Police to start a Neighborhood Watch program. We need at least 60% of our neighborhood to VOTE YES for the program in order to move forward with the initiative. Please click on this link so we can count your vote:

The Surreyworms Bookclub- Calling all Readers

The Surreyworms Bookclub started in January of 2015 and is a monthly tradition for neighbors to gather and share their thoughts and expressions about literature. We are always open to new members and would be happy to have you attend our next meeting. It is a great opportunity to get out of the house, meet new neighbors and expand your mind.

Last month we read Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah. A modern day fairytale, complete with an infallible father, wicked mother and two sisters struggling to overcome their differences. It was an emotional read, full of surprises and discoveries. Experience life on an apple orchard, war-torn Russia during World War II and the dynamics of a dysfunctional family trying to reconnect. It’s not often we all agree, but this read comes highly recommended by our club.

Next Bookclub Meeting- In February we will be reading Run by Ann Patchett. We will meet on February 28, at 6:30pm. Please email Haley Glynn if you are interested in attending hpglynn@gmail.com.

GoodReads Synopsis of Run: Since their mother’s death, Tip and Teddy Doyle have been raised by their loving, possessive, and ambitious father. As the former mayor of Boston, Bernard Doyle wants to see his sons in politics, a dream the boys have never shared. But when an argument in a blinding New England snowstorm inadvertently causes an accident that involves a stranger and her child, all Bernard Doyle cares about is his ability to keep his children—all his children—safe.
